OUR STORY
Osmé began with an idea.
Founded in Los Angeles by Julia and Craig Noik, Osmé brings together two distinct creative disciplines in an approach to perfumery shaped by art, form and design.
Julia’s background in fine art and graphic design, followed by her work developing African Botanics, cultivated a fascination with the natural world — its textures, provenance and sensory character.
Craig’s career as a creative director brings a different perspective: the translation of an idea into image, object and experience. It is at the intersection of these disciplines — form and image, formulation and design — that Osmé took shape.
The fragrances follow the same creative principle. A material — its temperature, texture, density, light and the impressions it evokes — becomes the starting point for a different master perfumer in Paris, each interpreting it through an individual olfactive language and imagination.
Together, they form a collection of three extraits de parfum, singular in character yet connected by a shared philosophy: fragrance as an encounter between inspiration, perfumer and wearer.
OUR NAME
Osmé takes its name from the ancient Greek word for “smell” — the most instinctive of the senses. It also echoes osmium, a rare elemental metal of extraordinary density. Between the two lies the idea of Osmé: something elemental, something sensed, something that lingers.
OUR PROCESS
Crafted to the highest standards of artistry and integrity, every Osmé fragrance is considered from formula to object.
Each fragrance is created in Paris by a different master perfumer. Beginning with an elemental source, it evolves over more than a year of refinement — accords are revisited, materials adjusted and details reconsidered until the fragrance reaches its final form.
The extraits de parfum bring together selected ingredients, from distinctive essential oils and natural extracts to high-quality contemporary synthetics chosen for their precision, depth and nuance. On skin, each fragrance unfolds gradually, revealing different facets over time.
Every bottle is hand-blown, giving each piece subtle variations of its own. The cap, made from upcycled rice husk, introduces an unexpected natural material to the finished object.
